Police departments around the world have utilized the techniques of Jiu-Jitsu in their training for many centuries. When the feudal system was abolished in Japan, Jiu-Jitsu became the official hand to hand combat system taught to the Japenese Imperial Guard. Currently, Japense police still utilizes Jiu-Jitsu in their training programs. In Brazil, Grand Master Helio Gracie was requested to design a training curriculum for the Brazilian police and military. He personally participated in the training of many of those units.
At Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Rancho we are extremely proud of our long lasting relationship with the law enforcement community in Southern California. We not only provide seminars specific to those in law enforcement, but we also have several law enforcement members who train with us on a daily basis.
